About
Hello and welcome to my personal website. My name is Germain Clavier and I am associate professor in the CIMAP laboratory at the Université Caen Normandie (Caen Normandy University). I work on the Alençon site and teach in the QLIO department (Quality, Industrial Logistics and Organising) from IUT GON (Grand Ouest Normandy Universitarian Institute of Technologie). On this website you’ll find articles linked to my research, teaching (if translated) or opinion blog posts (mostly). Most of it in french, sometimes translated to english.
Everything you’ll find on this website is garanteed to have been produced without the use of statistically poop generating models such as GPT and the like. Given the large volume of text composing most articles, mistakes are quite common. I am also a poor proof-reader. Any e-mailing of mistakes or questions about the content is welcome.

My research#
I am specialised in molecular modeling of materials, mostly polymer materials and thin-film deposition modeling. I mostly use the LAMMPS software to which I contribute and promote, as well as VMD and OVITO visualisation software. I code most of my tools in Python and bash. Gnuplot and Matplotlib are also some of my go-to tools.
Teachings#
I participated in chemistry and programming teaching some time ago at the Clermon-Auvergne Univeristy (UCA) as a post-doc researcher. Since I am working at IUT GON, I gave flux analyses classes, production management classes and audit introduction as well as industrial planning in the QLIO department. I also participated in setting up SAE classes. I also teach Wordpress and website making in the E-marketing undergraduate diploma that the department also carries.
